When your bike is in need a little or a lot of love, the only place to bring it is the Surgeon. We have the most experienced and talented staff of bicycle mechanics in all of the Metro East and Southern Illinois. Whether a cable adjustment on your Campy Record from 1998 or a complete suspension overhaul on your Santa Cruz Superlight, we have the expertise and experience to diagnose the problem, make the repair and stand behind our work.

Scheduling your service

Quick simple repairs like fixing a flat or installing an accessory are generally completed while you wait. For tune ups, overhauls and generally anything that will take us longer than 10 minutes to complete we ask you to set an appointment to drop your bike with us. This allows us to have your bike back to you in 24 hours or less and keeps us from having a huge armada of service bikes hanging in the store forever. The processes is simple and easy, pick up the phone or stop by the shop anytime and talk with one of our knowledgeable staff about what your bike needs or explain to us the problems and we can determine what service you’re bikes in need of (see the menu of services below for ideas). We will then schedule your service as soon as possible or on a later date that works well for your schedule. Between that time and the appointment continue to enjoy your bike and don’t miss out on any riding. On the day of your service appointment or the evening before bring the bike by and we will check it in and quickly evaluate it to ensure our cost estimates based on the actual needs of the bike. If it were to happen that we missed something in that initial evaluation and additional labor or parts were needed to complete the repair we will give you a call and discuss the situation prior to proceeding.

TUNE-UPS $45
Recommended every 2,000-4,000 miles
Includes the following:
• Wheel true
• Tire and tube inspection
• Brake cable tension and pad alignment
• Derailleur cable tension and limit check
• Derailleur hanger alignment, check and straightening
• Bearing tensions checked and adjusted as needed
• Tires inflated to proper pressures
• Lubricate chain and cassette
• Quick wipe down of bicycle
• Note: added surcharge for extra dirty/rusty bikes
*price does not include labor for suspension or hydraulics.

OVERHAUL $150
Return your ride to optimal condition.
Recommended every 5,000 - 7,000 miles
Includes the following:
• All components removed, cleaned, inspected, lubricated, and reinstalled
• Fresh grease on all serviceable bearings
• Wheels trued and tensioned precisely
• All components precision adjusted
*parts not included added surcharge for extra dirty/rusty bikes
*price does not include labor for suspension or hydraulics.

BIKE BOX AND SHIP $60
Recommended carrier FedEx ground shipping fees additional.
Includes packing material and box. Domestic only

FLAT REPAIR
$5 /wheel + price of tube, $10 BMX/recumbent/coaster brake

WIRED COMPUTER INSTALL
$10 ($5 if the computer is purchased through us at same time)

WIRELESS COMPUTER INSTALL
$5 (free install if the computer is purchased through us at the same time)
